Scorpiochs were large primeval arachinds that were featured in the 1981 film Clash of The Titans .

DescriptionEdit

These giant scorpions, which closely resemble the prehistoric scorpion Plumonoscorpius, were large around 12 feet long, although Plumonoscorpius was 28 inches long. They hunted in packs, and hunted and killed their prey with their pincers and stingers. Like many monsters in Greek Mythology, the Scorpiochs were spawned from the blood of the Gorgon Medusa, and were extremely agressive and hard to kill.

HistoryEdit

In Clash of The Titans, Calibos, son of Thetis, used the blood of Medusa's head to spawn three Scorpiochs to kill Perseus, Thallo, and another soldier. They were woken just in time by their friend Bubo, the golden owl. The three Scorpiochs killed Perseus' fellow soldier, but Perseus was able to kill two of them (one of them which killed the unidentified soldier) and Thallo killed the third before Calibos killed him. Afterwards, Perseus killed Calibos.

TriviaEdit

Scorpiochs were famous throughout Greek Mythology; Orion, the hunter, was in fact killed by a Scorpioch sent by the gods.
